Our client is seeking a Director of Building Science for their Building Science and Sustainability department. If you have excellent leadership management skills, with considerable previous building science engineering experience, then this career opportunity may be for you!

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Providing support in the development of the company’s Building Condition Assessment and Building Science capabilities
• Promotion, cross-selling and business development
• Administrative and financial responsibility for the activities of the group
• Providing supervision of project managers, specialists and project technologists
• Coordinating project related activities of those supervised
• Providing mentorship and training of employees
• Maintaining and enhancing quality control initiatives
• Business and technical consulting, and project management duties for clients

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering (Masters of Business Administration or Science or Applied Science in Engineering is preferred)
• A minimum of 10-15 years experience with the retrofit, maintenance, installation, rehabilitation and/or commissioning of building envelope and other building science systems in existing facilities
• Familiar with the operating and capital budgets within real estate facilities
• Ability to develop and present business cases to clients
• Previous construction experience with new and existing building projects, and management of team leadership of large groups of technical staff.
• LEED AP or LEED GA Certification (an asset)
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Project)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to excel in a team environment
• Willing to travel occasionally (a valid driver’s license, insurance & personal vehicle is required)
