Our client is a well respected and award winning builder in Southern Ontario. They are a seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their team. If you have condominium and high-rise construction project management experience, then this career opportunity may be for you! You must have worked for a General Contractor or Construction Company where you are intimately famliar (hands on, no sub contracting) of day to day PM duties (shop drawings, scheduling, costing, invoicing etc).

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Delivering construction projects within budget, schedule and scope (Residential and High-rise Buildings)
• Ensuring all safety procedures are implemented and followed; monitoring working procedures, performing inspections and reviewing/developing a safe working environment
• Developing preliminary site plans, cross sections, architectural floor plates , elevations and basic 3D designs to achieve ideal building and site designs
• Reviewing bearing loads, beams, columns, wall and slab design and footing type/design with structural engineers
• Working with the Site Supervisor to ensure smooth transition onto site work (site safety orientation, setting up benchmarks, site trailers, power supply, etc.)
• Performing periodic reviews of project budgets (monitoring and reviewing budgets)
• Procuring sub-trade and supplier contracts; ensuring compliance to project design and specifications are met
• Monitoring, reviewing and communicating project schedules to ensure project task are completed on time
• Ensuring job site inspections are performed during the project construction phase
• Reviewing and providing approval of all shop drawings and distribution to consultants and municipalities for approval
• Ensuring buildings have meet partial occupancy requirements (fire protection, alarms, stand pipe systems, site servicing certification, etc.), followed by full occupancy requirements being submitted and accepted by the municipality and the Condominium Board
• Ensuring sub-trade compliance; maintenance and submission of necessary documents (WSIB Clearance certificates)

Qualifications

• A minimum of 10 years experience with construction project management, specifically working on residential and high rise buildings (Multistory high rise residential, 10 stories and up)
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Knowledge/understanding of local construction specifications and contract documents
• Knowledge of safety regulations and possess a proven safety record
