Job Summary:


Our client, in Mississauga, Ontario, or Vancouver, British Columbia, is seeking a Practice Leader to strengthen capabilities in Construction Management, Project Management and Construction Administration across multiple disciplines.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with planning, directing and coordinating activity on construction sites, preparing budgets, developing contract documents, choosing contractors, negotiating contract terms and managing contracts. The successful candidate will join a team of Practice Leaders from other service lines to collaborate and strategize with.

The Construction & Project Management Practice Leader is responsible for the continuous improvement and maintenance of quality of Construction & Project Management services as well as for supporting regional market needs and initiatives. They will lead responses to changes in the industry, emerging issues, and client expectations, and help operations in all disciplines that offer construction services to remain current and competitive.


Job Duties:


•    Responsible for overall Service Delivery and Quality of Work related to Construction & Project Management in all disciplines.
•    Represent the company’s practice area expertise in developing new business and services.
•    Technical training and mentoring across all practices regarding Construction & Project Management.
•    Develop and maintain templates, contracts, tendering methodology, SOPs and other Practice resources.
•    Work closely with other Practice representatives.
•    Catalogue knowledge and technical documents.
•    Perform regular visits to operating groups in all offices offering Construction & Project Management services.
•    Audit completed projects.
•    Contribute to the development of new business materials and presentations related to the Practice.
•    Attend relevant conferences, network with industry leaders, and seek appropriate speaking opportunities.
•    Develop ways for the company to share its knowledge with current and prospective clients, such as company-sponsored seminars, white papers, blogs, etc.
•    Identify opportunities to publicize the company’s Practice area expertise.
•    Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Practice Leadership, CTO or CEO.


Qualifications:


•    Technical diploma or degree in a related field
•    P.Eng license (A CET or other credentials may also be acceptable depending on experience.)
•    15+ years of experience in Construction & Project Management
•    Specific training on contract administration and specification development. A CET or other credentials may also be acceptable depending on experience.
•    Experience managing large-scale, multi-step projects.
•    Technical understanding of construction including construction law, construction methodology, drawings and specifications.
•    Strength in leadership, communication, negotiation, time management, and decision making.
