Designation:


•    Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.)

•    Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program recognized by the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)


Job Summary:


Our client is seeking an Intermediate Civil Engineer specializing in Municipal Infrastructure projects to join their team in Ottawa, Ontario!

Job Duties:


•    Working directly with civil engineers, planners, landscape architects and other project team members as part of an integrated project team
•    Engineering related to municipal infrastructure and transportation facilities including underground infrastructure renewal, linear infrastructure design and utility coordination
•    Carrying out visits to construction sites and reporting on observations
•    Use of relevant software in the course of the work
•    Assisting senior civil engineers with project execution, including design and report writing
•    Coordinating with other engineering disciplines on multidisciplinary projects
•    Complete designs based on engineering principles for various municipal and transportation development projects, meeting applicable regulatory codes and standards
•    Organize and prepare permit applications with municipalities or agencies
•    Liaise with municipal staff, contractors, and the public and equipment suppliers
•    Preparation of technical design reports and memos
•    Attend and participate in project team meetings and coordinate with team members to ensure efficient and timely delivery of project deliverables
•    Participation in the preparation of proposals, reports, specifications and budget estimates
•    Assist with various project management related duties including client communication, project scheduling and proposal preparation, as needed
•    Other related duties, as assigned


Qualifications:


•    Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited program recognized by the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)
•    Professional Engineer designation (P.Eng.)
•    6-12+ years of experience, including underground infrastructure renewal and linear infrastructure
•    In depth knowledge of underground servicing and municipal road design
•    Familiarity with various civil design software
•    Excellent attention to detail
•    Excellent time management and organizational skills
•    Excellent problem-solving skills
•    Working knowledge of MS Office software, including Outlook, Excel and Word
•    Well-developed computer and analytical skills
•    Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle access
