Education:


•    A degree, diploma, or certificate in Construction Technology, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, or a Bachelor of Science or Applied Science

Job Summary:


Our client is a well-respected and fast-growing environmental consulting firm seeking a Senior Project Manager to join their Hazardous Materials department in Waterloo, Ontario. This individual will provide project management support to clients and will participate in staff development as well as act as the primary contact for specific clients.

Job Duties:


•    Manage Hazardous Materials projects throughout the Waterloo Region
•    Client relationship maintenance
•    Marketing of new clients
•    Oversee consulting projects, including assessments, contract preparation, and abatement work. Projects may be multi-disciplinary and involve more than one Service Line
•    Supervise Project Technologists in their job functions when technologist assigned directly by Operations Manager
•    Perform hazardous materials assessments and preparing assessment reports, management plans, etc.
•    Prepare contract documents for hazardous material abatement projects
•    Financial responsibility for assigned projects
•    Train and mentor junior and intermediate staff, including reviews of written work
•    Maintain and enhance quality control within the group
•    Assist in the development, and implementation of the yearly Business Plan
•    Perform any other job related duties that may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications:


•    5 to 7 years experiences as a Project Manager in hazardous materials consulting
•    Ability to read, comprehend and proof all written reports and correspondence
•    Good spelling, grammar, and punctuation
•    Excellent organizational and time management skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
•    Ability to effectively manage assigned staff during project specific work
•    Ability to write, edit, read and understand specifications, drawings, reports and RFP/RFQ documents
•    Professional verbal communication skills
•    Valid driver’s license, insurance and car are required
•    Availability to travel
