Job Duties:

 
  • Research and analysis relating to electric transportation and zero emissions buildings.
  • Develop policies, programs, plans and strategies for a range of government, utility, private sector, and non-profit clients.
  • Opportunities for career growth in climate and energy policy and consulting.
  • Work under the Director of Electric Mobility & Low Carbon Strategies.
  • Working conditions are primarily in-office, and occasionally at construction sites (observation).
Job Qualifications:
 
  • Masters level degree in Public Policy, Business Administration, Planning, Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong research (especially qualitative research, but also quantitative).
  • Strong writing and communications skills.
  • Demonstrated experience advancing climate policies and programs.
  • Knowledge of municipal, provincial, federal and utility climate and energy related policy.
  • Strong inter-personal skills and proven aptitude for qualitative inter-disciplinary research.
  • Knowledge of the technologies to support the transition electric transportation (e.g. electric vehicles) and a low carbon building systems (e.g. working understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and building science).
  • Detail-oriented, organized, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to project budgets.
  • Proficiency creating spreadsheet-based financial (e.g. pro forma) and energy system (e.g. technology adoption) models.
  • Proficiency with statistical software packages.
  • Strong work ethic, self-discipline, and an entrepreneurial attitude.
